We had a lovely meal here! My boyfriend made a surprise reservation for my birthday. The staff were so lovely, and our server Joseph was so attentive and kind! We had the vegetable pasta (a daily special) and the almond crusted trout. Dinner was followed by pavlova and coffee. Everything was delicious!

Always exceptional service and consistent high quality food. Duck Confit is always excellent. Great wine selection. Only a minor miss this visit, the lardons in the salad were fatty not crispy. One of favorites in Cleveland.

Absolutely loved the open kitchen and watching the chefs cook! The food was absolutely amazing and when had an amazing server! The steak and trout were to die for! Very dimly lit area and perfect for valentine’s day! They also had an extensive wine list and their spiked coffee was great as well!

Location is located on a college campus in the cut. Outdoor patio seating is wonderful but probably best when the outside temp is 70 or less. 5 star dining, great service and friendly staff. Food presentation is on point, taste could be more favorable for my palate, but noting a little salt can't help. The atmosphere is dim, soft and candle lit. Ordered the half shell oysters, blackened salmon and shrimp pasta with a side of mixed mushrooms. The bartender lady (forgot her name) gave a Great suggestion and Nino was mad cool. Thank you, we will be back soon.

We had the most amazing dinner at L’ Albatros and really look forward to the next time we are in town visiting the museums. The service was incredible and the food was even better. We would highly recommend treating yourself to this restaurant. It is conveniently located next to the museum circle. Definitely make a reservation or get there early.

If you want to know if a restaurant has a soul, visit on a Sunday night when the Cleveland wind is trying to pick a fight with your coat. That’s when L'Albatros doesn’t just feed you; it rescues you. Walking into this converted carriage house feels less like entering a restaurant and more like stumbling into a very wealthy, very French friend’s country home. The place is a delightful maze of small, quaint little rooms—nooks and crannies where the lighting is low, the chatter is happy, and the outside world ceases to exist. It’s cozy in the way a cashmere sweater is cozy: expensive, classic, and exactly what you need. We arrived chilled to the bone, but the warmth inside was immediate—and I don’t just mean the thermostat. The service here is a lost art: attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without lecturing, and genuinely welcoming. They treat a Sunday dinner with the same ceremony as a Saturday night gala, which is a kindness that doesn't go unnoticed. The food, of course, is the anchor. It’s unpretentious French brasserie fare done with serious skill—rich, comforting, and designed to make you forget the temperature outside. But honestly? It’s the atmosphere that lingers. In a world of open-concept, industrial-chic dining halls that sound like airplane hangars, L'Albatros remains a sanctuary of intimacy. Verdict: Go for the cheese cart, stay because it feels like a hug from a French grandmother who really knows her wine. A perfect Sunday escape.

This was my second time here, and I have to say, L’albatros is beyond delightful! The entire staff is super friendly and attentive and the food is amazing. We had a long list of delicious dishes - oysters, escargot and the artichoke for appetizers - the radicchio arugula salad (beyond amazing) and watercress caesar - vegetarian cassoulet and steak and frites - and finished the evening off with the pavlova. Truly, every dish was thoughtful and delicuous, as were all the cocktails and wine. I would highly recommend visiting this cozy spot when in Cleveland.

Friday night perfection, the service was superb and the food was Devine! Resonably priced for the superior dining experience we had. We started off with the mushroom crunch toast, and escargo, meals: Pork 3 ways, braised veal shank, shrimp pasta, mushroom soup, chicken confeit pizza, warn chocolate brownie, and the coffee and kalua creme brulee So good, and must try

We visited L'Albatros during the fall. We had a reservation for the patio, and it was the perfect decision—the restaurant has a stunning outdoor patio that feels like a hidden garden escape in the middle of the city. The menu offers a wonderful selection of French classics, but the standout for me was the almond-crusted trout. The service was also great; our server was attentive and professional. As a helpful tip for those driving: there is a very convenient paid public parking lot right in front of the building. It made getting to our reservation stress-free. Overall, between the food, service, ease of access, and the beautiful patio, it was worth the visit.

A great French spot that’s a good mix of casual and formal. Food is very well created and flavors are a bit on the rich side even for French cuisine. But delicious. I think the bread starter is fine, a bit dense and would be great if it were warm. Butter is not brought but they offer olive oil, a bit Italian. The duck confit was exceptional, the sides were too buttery for me alongside the richness of the duck and the salt/sugar content may have been a bit too much as well. The salad was fantastic. The first one came with globs of clear egg whites, sent it back and was then told, as if I had no idea, it was sous vide and that’s why it came like this. It was plainly under done but the next one was fine. Truly delicious salad regardless!
